Topic - Modern Internet Applications Based on Mobile Clouds and Software-Defined Networks

Brief Biography

Sergei Gorlatch is Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Muenster (Germany) since 2003. Earlier, he was an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Berlin, an Assistant Professor at the University of Passau, and a Humboldt Research Fellow at the Technical University of Munich. Prof. Gorlatch has more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in renowned international books, journals, and conferences. He was principal investigator in several international research and development projects in the field of software for parallel, distributed, Grid and Cloud systems, machine learning, and networking, funded by the European Commission and German national bodies. His papers were recognised as ACM SIGPLAN Research Highlights with a publication in the Communications of the ACM and were awarded Best Paper Awards at top conferences.

Topic - Trainable  Nonlinearity  Activation Functions for High-Speed AI: Reshaping the Landscape of High-Performance AI Computing

Assoc. Prof. Dr Norma Alias is an academic in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She holds a PhD in High Performance Computing from UKM. Her research expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, High Performance Computing (HPC), and the mathematical modelling of complex systems. With over 120 published documents and a Scopus h-index of 11, she is a recognised member of the National Professors Council (MPN) and the Malaysian Mathematical Society (PERSAMA). In 2018, she was honoured as a Distinguished Woman in Science at the Venus International Women Awards.
