Topic: Sama Circular Model in Real-Life Applications
Dr. (Mrs.) W. G. Samanthi Konarasinghe is an award-winning scientist, statistician, and lecturer with over 20 years of experience in statistical consulting and research. She has developed several advanced techniques, including the Circular Model (CM), Circular Indicator (CI), and Sama Circular Model (SCM), applied in time series analysis and financial risk measurement. Her SCM is noted for effectively modelling seasonal and cyclical patterns, while CI is used to assess investment risk. She holds multiple degrees in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Industrial Mathematics, and an MBA, along with a PhD in Statistics. She is also a member of several professional organisations and serves on the editorial boards of international journals. Dr Samanthi has received multiple international awards and has been invited as a keynote and guest speaker worldwide. Beyond academia, she is a multidisciplinary artist, including roles as a violinist, painter, writer, drama producer, and actress, and has been featured in the American Statistical Association’s AMSTATNEWS.
